About Sandy Par

Sandy Par writes dry golf humour and quiet philosophy for players who know the game is not just about the ball.

The Foozle Golf series began with a simple observation: the playback of a golf swing, recorded with the hope of witnessing grace and precision, revealed something closer to a primate attempting to swat a stationary fly with a sledgehammer. The gorilla was born. The series followed.

What started as a practical guide for new golfers has grown into something wider: a collection of books that look at golf through philosophy, comedy, ageing, friendship, failure, and the particular stubbornness of a man who has played for decades without any measurable improvement in his handicap.

The books are written for club golfers, society golfers, high handicappers, returning players, and anyone who has ever stood on a first tee and felt the gap between who they intended to be and who they became by the seventh hole.

Sandy Par plays off 18 and shows no sign of improving.
